This is one terrific piece for the Pug dog fancier! Hailing from Japan and marked Made in Japan this lusterware sugar bowl measures approximately 4 1/2 inches high. There is very little wear on this fellow (mostly small fleabites under the glaze) and the pictures do not do him justice.
Right down to his little tail that is used as a handle this Pug dog with his wonderful painted eyelashes will be more then happy to help you add cream to your coffee and I am sure a smile to your face. ...

These four cousins posed with their toys in Robert Newbery's Aurora studio around the turn of the century. Behind them is one of Newbery's standard backdrops, a painted scene suggesting a grand entrance hall complete with a staircase and potter palms. The backdrop ends rather abruptly at the left, where the camera caught the panel’s edge.
